went to knit night last week & this. baby was much more calm this week! i knit about 5 rows, started the bodice on anouk. i just got confused by the pattern, then figured it out. it was an "OHHHHHHH" moment. heh. so yeah i'm gonna get this side done and then do the front and then put it together and whatever all i have to do. yay. it'll be all cute on her this summer :)

i also got my yarn for the squares slippers from frugal haus that i'm doing for the boys. i am doing them in knit picks crayon. red, blue, and green. i was thinking about doing them solid, but decided to alternate colors using a different toe color for each boy.

so yeah thats whats going on knit-wise. and the baby ? rocks. She is 6 weeks old, beautiful, girls are fun.

Okay first question - does ANYONE read this? Please leave a comment if you do, just so i know.

second thing - I pulled out & restarted that hat & now i'm almost done with it. Also it will fit her longer, later but longer. It's cuuuuute!! I have an inch to an inch & a half more then I'll start decreasing. Then i'm gonna finish up the hat that goes with the seed stitch sweater (knit on the neck part).

Pictures later of this kinda cute stuff :) I'm also planning on casting on for Anouk soon. I'm not doing the colors they say, I am not sure yet if I'll have pockets on mine even. I have a varigated yarn & then a plain yellow for parts of it & possibly a little hat to go with it.

The sweater is finished, here is a bear modeling it. OH i need to get buttons, then its 100% finished. . .

The hat that goes with the sweater isn't completely finished, it's also pictured above by the way, anyway I just have to pick up & knit the neckband.

I tried the sweater on my friends three month old son and it fits perfectly. He is 12 pounds.

The hat I started in January - on size 3 needles, ouch, is not only not finished but I just realized I dropped a stitch about five rows back. So I have decided to pull it out, and knit up my idea on size 8 needles. I can finish that in a couple of days, the needles won't hurt my fingers. I'll be casting on/starting that tonight.

My sweater is all knit up, I just need to steam block & piece it together. I'm kind of nervous about this. I have to iron today, so maybe I'll do it then. I have 2 hours till I have to pick up my son, I really want to get the ironing done before that so I should get moving. . .

I republished my old knitting blog into a blogspot place. The images aren't showing up, I'll have to search my desktop for them someday & get them fixed, but you can read my posts. I started that blog when I very first started to knit, so yeah pretty cool. It's at aishyknits.blogspot.com

i'm feeling icky today. gonna put this thing away & sit & knit for a bit. My brother isn't awake yet, but I plan on napping later when he IS awake. He can keep up with the kids for awhile for me.

I know my posts are few & far beetween, but thats only cause i'm always busy either knitting, or taking care of boys & the house.

My sock was torn out completely once, back past the heel once (after completing it), and now I am finally satisfied with it & about to pick up stitches & knit the foot (finally). This third time of doing the heel was much easier than the first two times. Haha. I will start the second sock after I knit up the foot & close the toes on this one! There were a couple of areas where I had to cut & tie the yarn because of unacceptable knots, and i'm a bit worried about making it match because of those. Not sure what I'll do about that. As of right now I didn't cut off the tied ends, I can turn this sock inside out to see about where they are at, and figure out what i'm doing when I'm working on the other one.

I just finished winding my first center pull ball. I used a toilet paper tube. And I didn't listen, have to learn things the hard way, and got it all tangled up when I started a few days ago. Oops. But untangling was actually kind of relaxing, and the end result is awesome. I'll be doing the rest of the yarn over the end of this week. Only. I'll use the back of a chair instead of just placing the hank of yarn on my lap!

Baby girls sweater is coming along nicely. I am on the second sleeve. It's so very very pink. I allowed myself to buy the yarn for the hat this past weekend. Thursday I'll be buying another set of wooden DPNs for the socks (I broke one of the others and have been using a metal one, but it's just not the same. I want the Brittany needles instead of the handmade birch ones I bought last time, they can be my spares). And possibly one skein of yarn, we'll see. Friday I'm going to a different yarn store for some Berrocco suede for baby booties. I'll have to post the pattern here sometime, I have it bookmarked. They are just the cutest things. I haven't decided what color to use yet, possibly pink. Or maybe a pair of pink trimmed in brown & brown trimmed in pink. One skein makes two booties, and i believe there is a little leftover so that would work for the trim part.

I bought a bag at hobby lobby when I went to get the metal needles last week. It is working much better than the small dollar store bag I was using. I have also found a knitting group, who meets Thursday evenings, changing to tuesdays soon I believe. A couple of the women live nearby & we've been exchanging emails quite a bit. It's nice to have VERY local knitters to talk to!!

Im sick so it's off to bed for me. I said that over an hour ago and then got involved in untangling & winding. Oops.

That 15 was upped to a 16 because I discovered something I had forgotten.

I pulled out all the bags with WIPs in them. I have 15 things going. Yikes. At least four of these are for baby, with several things planned for her. I need to get to work!!!!! I took pictures, I'll try to post the "July 19th" and "Completed" pics as I complete each project.

So I'm slowly working on the right front, I'm taking my time as It took me three or four starts to even get it right, and I was frustrated with it. Next is sleeves, which I'm anxious to do. I'll have to get dpns in the right size soon, too. I'll be needing those for finishing. I like doing sweaters, so far, but i may not like putting it all together. Thats usually my least favorite part of things.

We need to do fathers day shopping today, I nearly forgot.

Sweater Update

Finished the back & i'm working on the left front. When I finish this I'll have to do the right front, which I'm going to need to ask questions about because all the pattern says is "reverse shaping" Good thing I have the lone star gals!

I think i'm anxious to get this done so I can start on that cute little dress. hehe. I'll probably make a little kercheif to go with that, in different yarn of course. I wonder how big a kercheif for a six month old needs to be??

I stopped at Michael's last night after my midwife appointment to get stitch holders. Also ended up grabbing some stitch markers. If I had more money I would have gotten one of the little knitting spool dealies cause I've wanted to play with one for awhile now! And more yarn. I touched all the pretty soft yarn, especially the pink stuff. It's so lovely.

A baby had on a cute smock thing over her sleeper at playgroup today. I want to make one for my baby. I'm wishing i had taken a couple of pictures, I wouldn't mind making one out of fabric as well as a knit one.

Man this baby is active all of a sudden! I need to add something in the sidebar with links to other knitting blogs.

I decided I wanted a new knitting blog, it's been ages since I kept one. I want to keep it simple though, so I don't feel overwhelmed with it. So simple layout, and no promises of daily posts. Just whenever I feel like it, about whatever I feel like writing - well knitting content for sure.
